Day 10: The Birthday Bash

Birthdays are the best day of the year. Not to be self-centered. We implemented something called "Spain Birthdays". Basically we all picked a day to be our Spanish Birthday and that is the day that we get to pick what the group does for that day. Honestly, it turned into a celebration of that person on the trip. Sadly, my birthday is on the very last day. I am actually going to share it with Tyler too. You might ask why we would share a birthday, but it makes sense for two reasons: 1. It is pretty awesome to have the last day because I don't think anyone will want to sleep on our very last day which means I can maximize my birthday, thus it is not so terrible to share and 2. Tyler and I have the same birthday in real life (along with the Louisiana Purchase, and the first use of the telephone by Alexander Bell, and most importantly Chuck Norris... thats right, Chuck Norris, if you dont believe me, look it up). This was Bailey's Birthday though. We all made her presents; Tara wrote her a birthday poem, I wrote her 100 reasons to love Bailey, and Nina made her a picture that was filled with inside jokes (oh yes, inside jokes from only a few weeks of being together... you wouldn't believe how well you get to know people when you spend litterally 24 hours a day with them).

For Bailey's birthday we all went to the beach because it was an absolutely beautiful day. The boys paid for Bailey to get a massage for her birthday. For three euros we all ended up getting a massage. I am going to be honest. It was amazing. It doesn't seem very appealing to have your back covered with oil when you are sandy at the beach, but looks can be deceiving. All of the boys (Tyler, Kyle, Kyle 2.0, Josh) enjoyed their first massages as well. The only part of the massage that was not relaxing was the asian ladies speaking really loud to eachother while massasing our backs. oh well, you get what you pay for right?

I went on an amazingly long stroll on the beach with Nina. We talked about travel and life and boys (but mostly boys). Character development: Nina is well read, has traveled, has more patience than anyone I know (she is going to help me be a runner), and really enjoys just reflecting with me about the places we have been.

On the way back we stopped by Maoz to get some falafel. This falafel is amazing because there is a salad bar of all types of meditarranean salad and food. It is fast food in Barcelona and is basically the equivalent to McDonalds in America. (why can't america have such awesome fast food?)

That evening we were going to go back into town but missed the last train. This was probably a blessing in disguise because we walked back to the hotel and
